Since my very painful fall, as a result of an unseen icy patch, a week ago today, I’ve stayed off the bike. Now, yet again, the snow has returned. I don’t think I’ll be riding for some time. That’s me above, being picked up for work, I couldn’t get the car out of our street, let alone onto the main roads. I had to walk for 10 minutes so that the 4×4 could pick me up.
As I type the sun is blazing down, so hopefully, I’ll manage to get the car out onto the main road tomorrow. Meanwhile the Subway will have to remain in the shed looking very sad and forlorn. That fall last Saturday has left me with a sore derierre, and a painful stiff back, I’m too old to risk such accidents, and really it pains me so much to say that, but I have to be realistic. I still need to work and earn money. Sadly riding the bike in the present conditions is far too risky. “Her indoors” suggests I go to the gym, and if I’m to achieve my goal of 14 stone by next February/March in time for my 60th birthday I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and get going, putting up with the boredom of the treadmill etc..
Wish me luck.
