Lot’s been happening, but no time to blog. Sadly, I didn’t manage the 30 day challenge, still no photos uploaded to the computer. All sounds a bit negative I’m afraid, however, I’m still soldiering on as best I can.
Commuted everyday for the past four dayshifts, doubling back to nights…ugh!…tonights. The BBC weather forecast keeps declaring 16 mph winds, that is definitely not what it feels like when I’m pedalling out there. It’s been really hard work travelling home up the valley, against a severe headwind, that’s added at least half an hour to my time. Yes that’s half an hour!!!
To say I was pooped last night is a complete understatement, completely cream crackered!!
I’ve been lucky enough to see a badger, who seemed to be running towards MacDonalds, entirely oblivious to me, as I rode by within 10 feet of him/her, a fox, very close to that same MacDonalds, they must be attracting new clientele these days, and a couple of clutches of Mallard ducklings on both the Neath river and canal, numbers eight and fourteen.
Then there was something strange or sad, I don’t understand it anyway. While pedalling in one evening a week or so ago, I came across the roadkill of a mallard duck, a drake, on the pavement quite close by was another live drake, quacking. For the next three days I passed the same scene with that other drake seemingly waiting….. What for his pal to turn up? You can put your own individual interpretation on it, and I know we tend to humanise these situations, but I can’t help wondering what was really going on. On the fourth day both the corpse and the live drake had gone.
So I reckon I’ll, sorry we’ll, me and my reader, will never know.
BUT… now life has caught up with me again, and I’ve got o close for now.
